Whether you spend your weekends watching HDTV on your Ohio directv or you are just getting started in the decorating world you’ve got to love Asian influence. Here are a few played-out Asian inspired decor items we’d like you to avoidit’s for the greater good.
Oriental Screens – Screens were a great way to divide a room back in the 1970s. Asian screens scream ‘bad taste’ and they rarely compliment any room. Stick to something neutral if you must have a screen and keep the influence light and contained.
Buddha – Unless you’re a follower keep the big, metal Buddha statues at the antique mall. They’re heavy handed and rarely say you’re well traveled more like you used to like decor back in the 1980s but you haven’t kept up with it since then.
Asian Silk – Pillows, rugs, and throws should stay neutral, solid at best if you must use a color. Asian silk looks great on a kimono but not so great when plastered all over the inside of your house – it reads dated and cheap if you’re not careful which shouldn’t be your goal.
